You can't see the Sag finish time in the 2nd Tam v Sag drag...? The Tam looked like it was being caught very quickly and was only ahead because the Saggy driver fluffed the startwink

the second sag time was 13.1s

Yes it was all down to good or bad starts. my tam and a bad start the first run as you can see... but it caught right back up and crossed the line a faster speed on two splits after.

Its was interesting just how similar the two cars were. there was nothing in it... and I could put the roof down on the drive backwink

What was your best of the day? 12.9 secs? All the TVRs I have seen at Santa Pod with a decent start hit roughly 12.7 to 13.XX

Edit- I think a 4.0 T350 might have done 11.9 at the Tuscaneers meet. Cerber450 did an 11.5 in His old 4.5 NOS'd Cerby!!

11.9! god that is very quick.

Yes our best was a 12.7 and a 12.9

there were only one or two cars there on the day that could catch us. We both felt we could get a 12.6 if we nailed the start and ran higher on the revs.

I went there with a friend and his car is a pro car that has run 8.0s.... great fun to watch. I did wonder what all the reving was about from over the hedge.

Are you sure!. A 3.6ltr 350bhp Tamora against a 4ltr 380bhp Sagaris.

Maybe it was the drivers that made it so close.

I know the saggys are built a lot better, and have great handeling... but TVR are a great one for window dressing their performance figures.

The two cars really were very close... you can tell in between shifts. your both flat out and in the same gear, its easy to see where time is made and lost. his sag seem to have alot of grunt in second and i assume they rev higher which helped him to hang on gears longer and shift into a better power band. That being said, the differnce (I assume) would not be noticable on roads. The guy waving us on to the track was loving both cars! I'd recomend going, but let the car cool of between runs.

What is it now?

yes I know they are a bit quite from that distance. both were standard. I looked at de-cats but it seems a bit extreme?

Nice bit of footage.

Go for the decats - I'm convinced mine have made an improvement, and they're not overly loud if used with the standard system.

Since then its been changed a little, 4ltr RR, de-cats, Carbon Airbox with trumpets, re-map, and hopefully a lsd with new ratio if theres time to do that before i get home to pick it up.

Thanks... I cant take the credit as I was not the camera man. Yes I have heard people say the same as you, and then others saying that they are far too loud?? De-cats oftern make a car sound very rough too and I dont want my poor tam to sound like a farm vehical.

No wonder you have that username! well I'd love to know how those mods work out (cost and performance)

where did you have the work done?

Most people who say decats are too loud have heard them when used with a sports back box. Personally, I didn't notice much more noise until I put the roof down and clogged it. No one has yet convinced me of any power benefits from the aforementioned back boxes, so mine's as it left the factory.
