LHD Door locked!!!

my LHD Sagaris door is lockerd

the RH works

but the LH
no

Also the screen doesnt' work

i checked and seem everything ok.

Any suggestion?

Hi Gianluca,

I had a similar problem on my T350. Can you open the door with the outside switch? Can you still operate the windows?

On mine, the earthing for the left hand door control was "lost". So no window or door operation from inside. After adding a new earthing cable everything was fine again.

Hello Gianluca,

for testing, I suggest the following (seems kludgy, but it works)...

• Remove the glove box (open the lid, remove both screws - one on each side - and carefully pull it out).
• Now you're able to detach the cable block from the door controls.

The wiring is as follows

PIN	Description	Colour
1	Earthing	Black
2	-	-
3	Window down	Blue
4	Door unlock	Orange/White
5	Car lock	Black/White
6	Window up	Gray
7	Car lock illumination	-
8	Door unlock illumination	White
9	Alarm LED	Orange
10	Window up/down illumination	Red/white

For testing the door, stick a thin wire into pin 4 (orange/white), maybe using a bent paper clip. Now you need a long cable to connect to some alternative earthing - having a plastic body makes this a hard one. I used a very long one attached to the engine...
Now - if you touch the thin wire from pin 4 with the earthing cable, to door release should work. In this case, it is really the earthing which has gone.

My fix for that was installing a new earthing cable. Kind of a fiddly job. I attached an additional cable to the earthing one (black, pin 1) and connected it to an unused earthing somewhere around the steering column - don't know if this is 100% correct, but has been working since last year . Getting the cable through the ventilation tunnel is the fiddly part ...

Hi Gianluca,

the boot release button is a different story. I never had electrical problems, but there might be a mechanical one. On the rear of the Sagaris badge, there should be a little piece of rubber acting as a spacer between the badge and the button. It is only glued and might have come loose.

I don't know how to remove the badge on the Sagaris - Graham (VARLEYHYD) should know...
