Tuscan to T350

I currently own a 2000 model Tuscan and was wondering how it would compare to a newer T350 (05-onwards), will it be easier to live with? And has the build quality improved much since the early tuscans? Also i don't know much about the 3.6 litre engine, are they regarded as more reliable than the 4.0? And finally do they burn the paint off due to excessive heat from the manifolds as the tuscans seem to do? thanks

Can't comment on Tuscan's as I have never had one mate. My T350c has been superb and yes I have had my little issues with her over the years. Build quality is very good, it's a 2005 car 3.6 with nitrons, de-cat and power box. Everything else is standard. On track she was fantastic and you realise how much you can push her and appreciate the balance chasis. On country lanes she can be hard work but overall a very enjoyable car with the little Tiv issues every now and again.
I would only ever swap her for a Sag and even then I will have to think twice. You can contact me via my web-site if you would like to know the in's & out's.

I went from my Tuscan (2001 Red Rose) to a T350t (2004 also Red Rose). In out and out terms the Tuscan was a little faster (straight line) but I feel that I can drive the T350 quicker. The T350 seems easier to drive a bit closer to the limit (perhaps more mine than the cars) without quite so much fear. It feels smaller (it is noticeably shorter) and consequently feels more chuckable so I'm more inclined to attack the corners harder.
4 years and 80,000 miles in it later it's the favourite of all the TVRs I've had
and if I had to replace it I'd probably not go back to a Tuscan, but another T350.
As everyone says, later engines probably are more reliable. My Tuscan had all the usual finger follower problems but once those had been addressed I got another 40,000 miles before I sold it. The T350 has had a rebuild but not until 60,000 miles but may be I'm luckier than some. . . .
Make the change, I didn't regret it though I was a bit unsure when I did the deed. The T350 doesn't look quite so dramatic as the Tuscan but as is often the case with cars, especially sports cars, colour can make a huge difference, though beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
