Hi just picked my T350T up but have a few ques pls

I have just collected my T350T and loving it,i just have a few questions i wanted to ask.

Do they all crunch when selecting reverse ,seems ok in other gears.

and also i have whistling coming from the passenger roof panel at about 40mph i have tried moving panel etc but without much success

Yes they all crunch :-) just put into 5th before selecting, this will syncro the gears without the crunch.

Also going straight from 3rd to 5th will crunch the gears, I do this on other cars but not the TVR, hate the noise!!

Congratulations on your new pride and joy!
With respect to your reverse gear query, I was told by the main dealer that I got my car from, that the correct way of engaging reverse gear was to firstly engage 5th then back into reverse. If you check the previous threads on here you will see that there has already been a degree of discussion as to;
a) whether this is absolutely necessary and
b) whether it has an adverse effect on the gear box.

You pays your money and you takes your choice.

Whistling from the roof really does suggest it's not sealing properly. I assume it starts at 40mph - I guess if it disappeared at higher speeds that would simply suggest some odd resonance. Check that the rubber strip is positioned correctly all the way round the panel? Otherwise, make sure the panel is shoved as far forwards as possible. On mine (2004) you can tighten the wing nuts indefinitely, well beyond what is sensible - though ultimately you would unscrew the thread from the panel.

All that refers to 2004 style roofs - I've no experience of the earlier side sealing ones.

More importantly - why are you trying to put the panels in; life is much better with them out

thanks for the info its a 2005 car ,i have removed both panels today and it looks like both are sealing due to a slight residue left on the armourfend.
The noise just seems to increase as i speed up ,alot worse at 80 etc.
i keep trying leave panels off but it keeps raining (roll on summer).
I did see someone mention about adding some additional sound proofing around edge of panel but i am not sure where about to add it?

You can adjust the front 'latches' on the targa panels by unscrewing and inserting washers to make the fitment tighter, this might help. If you're in the car, can you see daylight from anywhere on the panel? You can get slightly thicker foam which may help (depends).

Panels should be adjustable so its quiet up to 100mph or so ...

As for reverse gear it is worth varying the gears you use first to even the wear btw

Hi guys, i found from 5th to reverse still crunched in a Tuscan, i had a trick where you put it into third and into reverse as quick as possible, that always worked
