Anderson battery charging connector

Just a warning to anyone wanting to use this underneath car connector to recharge their battery. After a couple of years it corrodes so badly it just does not work anymore!

Have to agree, I cleaned all mine up and moved into the passenger footwell.

My concern was the corrosion and that it was too easy to short out.

How did you get it into the pass footwell Dave? Im thinking of getting one of those accumate chargers that charge through the cig lighter.

Took about 40 mins as you have to get to the batttery to reroute the cable.

All I did was unbolt the cables from the battery, unbolt the anderson connector (1 bolt) and then reroute from the passenger bulhead back to the battery and added 100Amp in line fuse, there is already a large grommet feeding other wires into the footwell.

Mine was really corroded so I cleaned it up and it sits behind the carpet.

It really is exposed underneath and right behind the passeneger wheel, worst place to fit something that is unfused and regulary gets wet.

Did you have a removable cover on the connector or was it just open to the elements? Mine has a cover and doesn't seem too bad at present, but it's only covered a few thousand miles in mainly dry conditions.

Could this give you another problem though, in that if the battery goes down you can't get in the car to connect to charger?
