Hello from new T350T owner

Hello everyone. I've just started a relationship with a new mistress. Curvey, just how I like them;



It's my first TVR, having previously been in Porsches. I'm still getting used to other drivers being courteous towards me!

Nice looking T350T! From my experience of moving between Porsche and TVR ownership they are'nt really for direct comparison but are very different ownership propositions. Both offer a great experience. The Porsche (911's in my case) are superb useable sports cars that really do take some beating as an all rounder. The TVR is more of an emotional experience with the ability to put a huge smile on your face but also frustrate! The other thing people often forget when drawing comparisons is that a TVR is a fair bit cheaper if you are looking at a 911 v a T350/Tuscan.

Hope you enjoy it. If you are planning track days you will certainly see the benefits of the T350 over your Porsche (assuming it was'nt a GT3!!!)

How do you pick which car to drive - Porsche..... T350...... OR one of the other two?

Hey...

I came from a Porsche 993 CarreraS (Wide Body) to my current T350C (Chameleon Blue).

The Porsche was an amazing car, had the full TurboS kit along with a full FabSpeed exhaust and Decat, the noise was incredible, almost as good as my TVR with power exhausts.

Was no way fast enough, found it very frustrating to be honest but the build quality was incredible and there is something about those air cooled flat6 engines, classic.

If I had the money, I would get the Turbo version of the 993, forget about the 996 and 997 :-)

I love my TVR though, it's a daily drive, only had a temp sensor failure so far (touch wood) and has serious performance.

Like other people on this thread have said, Porsches are fantastic cars in their own right. They have good build quality and every day usability. In many ways the fact that my 911 (996) was so easy to use every day was its downfall, as it undermined its special status. Throw in the fact that they are a relatively common sight on the road, especially silver, and I came to the conclusion that it was time to try something else.

Right now the T350 feels much different to other cars. Much more raw and the controls are heavier. It feels more organic. I love the interior with the ali switches and stalks. The exterior and the noise certainly turn heads - it is a rare and beautiful car. In terms of performance I know that right now I can drive a 911 much quicker than the T350, but it doesn't matter. I'm still getting familiar with the Tiv, and I am enjoying the process.

Anyway, I feel I need to hijack this thread.

Baron Reg is off to Le Mans on Wed - and guess what car he is taking? Yes - the 911. Shame on you! TVR was born to cross Europe and rest up at Le Mans!

I am glad you are enjoying the Tiv and you are right they do have a more of a connected feel than most other cars and all the more exciting because of it. I have so much more respect for the power in a TVR because its me in control and not some computer. I am not sure if thats aways a good thing, but it feels great.

I am in Hampshire (Farnahm) quite a bit as I have friends there so if you ever fancy a going for a spin let me know.

Tempting ... but it's probably best not to go back. TBH, with the recent trip to Le Mans (sans TVR) I haven't had much time with it myself. I'm hoping for some good weather this weekend.
