Extra coolant tank for my Tam

My car is in having two engine mounts replaced ready for this years holiday around south of France and the Italian lakes. However whilst its in there I've asked about having the extra coolant tank put on.
Can people who have had this done please let me know if it worth it and what difference it has made?

Andrew, make sure you have the rubber engine mounts with sheet metal around it as this is the upgraded part. They last longer than the old solid rubber part.
I was told that the extra coolant tank was only neccessary if you had engine temperature problems. Your engine temperature was running similar to mine so I think that an extra coolant tank will be a waste money.

After having my Tamora seriously overheating (118 deg with both fans running) in the south of France (a long, long traffic queue in July. I was stuck in a four-mile jam here last Sunday and it barley rose above 99), I wouldn't take it again without the extra coolant tank. Which reminds me, I must buy one...

Thanks Ian but I have already asked them to do the modification because some people say it works really well and others say it is not unnecessary but nobody says it makes things worse.
I was just hoping for a little reassurance from people who have had it done to find out what I can expect?

Was it Dulfords that did your mounts? Thats where my car is now, so hopefully fitted the same ones!

Yep, Dulfords will certainly fit the upgraded engine mount.

I would be interested in how you get on with the extra coolant tank and whether it does have an effect on the Temperature.

I've been toying with doing this on my Tamora. However, over the last weekend I took the front number plate off while travelling down to Le Mans and back, and it did make a big difference.

While on the run, it was sat at 69, 70 degrees. And when in town it was staying cooler for longer, I can only presume that more air was going through it when moving slowly in traffic. Now looking to get a smaller number plate or even a stick on to go above the TVR badge.

Finally, when are you off to France and Italy? I'm driving down with the good lady to Lake Garda in mid July.

Thanks, yeah I've been thinking of reducing the size of the number on mine as it is just common sense that the more air flowing through there the cooler it will be. Let me know if you come up with a good plate idea!?
I'm off to France and Italy in two weeks, two days and 12 hours roughly!

Remember, 87-90 deg is around the ideal temperature most engines/cars run at.
