Servicing months or Miles

My Tamora is now slightly overdue a service based upon the 12 month schedule, however it has covered only 2500 miles since being serviced last year with no track days and just light road use, I don't have a warranty on the car so the 12 month factory advised schedule is largely irrelevant to me, would you bother to service the car now based on months or put another couple of thousand miles on it and service it perhaps in another 6 months?

Get a small service done now. That is if you want to sell the car more easily.

Get a small service done, or go to one of the Independent TVR specialists that offer a low mileage TVR service, Track V Road spring to mind.

Thanks for the advice, the service due is the larger valve clearence service and I am in Stevenage so Track V Road isn't all that practical. I think I am inclined to let the TVR Centre do the full service but wait until the end of the summer I can't think of anyone else that is very local to me to do this and don't really want the hassle of travelling miles as my wife is due to have our first child in 4 weeks

If the car struggles to tickover from start, has a lot of soot on the exhaust outlet, little tappetry from cold then get a big service done. If it's not using much oil and it has good tickover at cold and sounds good from cold then just do a small service.

I had my car in storage for quite a few months only doing 1500 miles from it's previouse service, had the big service done before putting back on the road and it was like a different car. Quieter, smoother and uses very little oil. "Valves had stretched".

Maddog I know it's 6000 miles or 12 months but my car has only covered 2000 ish miles in the last 12 months hence my dilema, anyway the car is now booked into the TVR centre for the big service on Monday just to be safe.
