Sagaris Buying advice (Highly confused Newbie!)

Calling all Saggy owners!
Hello all!
I am after some advice!... I have been seaching the webb and almost
every TVRdealer in the county trying to find a decent Sagaris, but
as im sure your all aware, there isnt many available!
I have Budget of £39.000 cash (not a penny more) and am looking for
a car with no more than 9000 miles on the clock.
I seem to have a choice of either..........
2005 Orange one with 3900 miles or a 2006 yellow one with 8900 miles.
What is better a lower milage 05 or a higher milage 06 (for risiduals)
Also is there anything major I should check ? this is my first TVR
and have always shyed away due to the engines blowing up! BUT just
LOVE the Sagaris so much I am gunna take a gamble!
The Orange one is In Lincolnshire Reg X1A 455....does anybody know
anything good or bad about this car???
Any advice would be VERY much appreciated!

I Don't know much about the sag but I do know that the dealer sticker prices are there to be knocked down. If you don't have a car to px you can get a lot knocked of. I got over 4K off the sticker price of my tam with hard haggling. Don't be affraid to say you will pay 39K for a 43K car, if they don't accept leave, you will be suprised how many ring you back. It's a game, just make sure you don't pay more than you wanted to.
A lot of sags in the dealers are there on sale or return so your offer will be presented to the owner and depending how much they need the cash you could get a better bargain than you expected.

Those are both very low milage!What is better a lower milage 05 or a higher milage 06 (for risiduals)
The Speed 6 isn't properly run in until there is at least 20000 miles on it.

Hello, my first post as a TVR owner. I bought a Sagaris last week! it was advertised on here, I may have been able to get a better deal but I was pleased with what I got, 950 miles on the clock, one owner, Feb 08 57 plate with the labour for the first servive was included (now done) and remainder of warranty.
I looked at a number of cars and this was by far the best, the engine is still very tight, Mr Orange lives in the same car park I work at and their car has done 20K miles and it really would not have bothered me.
Yes you can negociate on a car but I don't think you can haggle to hard on a car with low mielage and owners, two cars I was interested in sold before I got to see them so the market is not bad for the sagaris when priced sensibly.

Likewise before I purchased the Sagaris I did alot of researching and decided to go with a dealer for some extra reassurances (warranty, etc.)
One things to notice is this board is *very* quiet about late 2004 (onwards) rebuilds (touch wood). The only Sag I knew off was one with over 50k on the clock and from what I was told it was more preventive that actually blown up.

Hi all, i hear the Grigio Sag at Dream Machines is a little beauty.
Mind you i would say that as it is mine and i have owned it for two years. I am selling it due to moving to the US. A brief description of the car is written below.
It has full TVR main dealer service history. It has always always been maintained by Dream Machines and they were the original supplier of the car. I am the 2nd owner and i bought it from Dream Machines around two years ago. When i bought it it had approx 6,000 miles and i have added the additional 8,000 miles. I have used it as an everyday car throughout the whole year. The only time it has let me down was when it blew a fuseable link on the charging system which left me with a flat battery one morning. This was repaired for approx £50 and Dream Machines came and recovered the vehicle, done the repair and delivered the Sag back to me.
It has never had any kind of bodywork repairs or been involved in any accidents or insurance claims. There is also no outstanding finance on it.
It has just had a new clutch due to the standard Sagaris fingers on the
pressure plate losing their tension and not due to being worn out.
It also has a £1,000 Becker stereo which has built in Sat Nav.
It also has a full tracker system which i am sure your insurance will insist on.
It has also had the armourfend fitted so it is not covered in stonechips.
The wheels are unmarked along with the rest of the car.
Believe me if it wasn't for moving overseas i would not even consider selling it as i love it. If i could take it to the US and use it over there it would be coming with me.

The lower the mileage the better I would say from a residual point of view - however the mileage in reality, really doesn't seem to effect the cars - mine is on 18k, has just sailed through its first MOT with no probs and keeps getting better 
. Yellow would probably be a harder colour to sell than Orange though if and when you come to sell it - it is a bit of a love it or hate it colour....
Racing Green have a lovely Reflex Charcoal one in on an 06 plate with about 8k but its up for £45995, but you could put in an offer, you never know...
