A salutary lesson to us all.....

I received my new uber powerful Bosch jet wash yesterday, and decided to wash the Sag. A few sticky flies on the nose of the beast, so I whacked up the power to full - luckily only for a few seconds. I checked it and it felt a bit rough - on drying it off the washer had taken off the lacquer layer (or top paint layer) - anyway now has slug trails on the nose and looks like st. After much cursing of myself I took it to my local body shop this morning and he is going to respray the nose for me (back on Tuesday)

So if you have a jet wash, please be careful with it. My old one was nowhere near as powerful, and I never had any problems with it, but it died last year. I always kept pressure away from brakes, bearings, electrics etc. but this was a big surprise.

Please don't do what I did or it'll cost you a fortune. At least the chips I sustained last week when running into a hare (see previous post) will also be fixed...... Not been a great week.

I am sure i have seen in hand book of my 350 not to use pressure washers on paintwork ?
