Swansong for a totally sorted Tamora

Hello folks,
This is (honestly) not a request for votes, but instead a swansong.....
I entered my car into a competition on the Vertar website a wee while back, and received an e-mail informing me that it is in the "Car of the Month" competition:

BUT......
... I've sold the car. It was picked up on Sunday
I just wanted to share a last glimpse of it with you all.
I owned it for about 18 months, during which time I really looked after it (probably to the point of obsession re letting the oil warm up before giving it laldy). However, in return, I've had 6,000 almost trouble free miles. Apart from the usual servicing & consumables, it has cost me just £210 for a replacement window/door switch. I had more trouble with my brand new Honda Accord Diesel!! I hope that this goes some way towards reassuring potential purchasers of Tamoras / T350s etc that the TVR reputation for unreliability is NOT always deserved.
I hope the new owner (Paul) becomes a regular on this site, and even if he enjoys it just half as much as I have he'll have an absolute ball. In the meantime I'll be tootling about in a family-friendly five door, (aka
) looking forward to a time when the kids no longer need their carseats and so I can get something a bit more nimble.
Who knows... maybe by next Summer I'll have succumbed to the lure of Tiv ownership again!

Bugger, I just bought an AccordHowever, in return, I've had 6,000 almost trouble free miles. Apart from the usual servicing & consumables, it has cost me just £210 for a replacement window/door switch. I had more trouble with my brand new Honda Accord Diesel!! Lensey - re the Honda
If it is of any consolation, it was the SatNav / electronic gadgetry that was unreliable. Mechanicals were all top notch. For example, during the 3yrs I had it it went through 4 SatNav units, 3 CD changers and 3 Aircon units. In the end I think the garage just ripped out and replaced the entire centre console from windscreen to gearstick. Oh, and the front suspension needed rebuilt but I suspect that was due to some pretty aggressive speedbumps on my daily commute. And, while I remember, watch for the lacquer on the alloys coming away. Mine were all replaced by Honda under warranty. It seems this issue is wuite common on certain wheel designs.
I reckon I was just (very) unlucky, however the local Honda dealer was exceptionally helpful, which took most of the pain out of it..
If I had to choose another company car tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate to go for another Honda Accord diesel.
