HID Headlights not working in the rain

Evening

Really starnge problem that has reared its ugly head with all the recent rain..... my aftermarket HID headlights wont turn on when it has been raining heavily - its not a massive problem currently as I dont do much night driving but it will be a big problem soon.

My sidelights turn on fine but the HIDS just wont fire up, its obviously something to do with the rain but I dont know what I should be doing to check if anything is wet/soaked as they work absolutely fine when its dry or is coming out of the garage on the morning.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

How have you hidden the wires? Could it just be a loose connection? Or possibly the water getting to the wires some how?

Probably worth taking the wheel back off and having a look

I didnt actually fit the lights it was done by my mechanic, the drivers side ballast was not mounted in the light enclosure but the passenger side one is. I guess the drivers side one is a little exposed to the elements but it was my understanding that this was OK.

Also though I have noticed that on the passenger side the lens cover that covers all the lights has a lot of condensation on it which may suggest it is not sealing properly.

Got the car out of the garage this morning and they fired up fine despite all the condensation inside the passenger side lens cover.

Hi...

I had the same problem with aftermarket kit on my previous Z3M Coupe. Water was getting into the connections.

Check the connections and get the main box into a plastic bag, tie up tight, problem sorted.

Also, how good are the kits for the T350? Worth getting? I noticed the dipped light has a smoked lens, does this work better with the kits as previous cars I have had them on (without smoked lens) spread the light all over the place.

The HID kit is great on the T350 with no light scatter and much better than the originals. My car is blue as well so the real blue colour of them look great.

But, with all this rain I have absolutely no headlights until sorted, and access is so limited to where thyre fitted!!!!!!!!

The T350 has projector headlamps on it, so HID's look brilliant on them!
