oops to much oil seems to be bubbles on dip stick

Hi
Got back from longish run yesterday checked oil ,looked like really low ,so topped up just checked again today after short run and know its way over max approx 1 inch.
Also seems to be bubbles on dipstick.

Should i drain some off if so how?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Should be OK, SP6 engine will just burn off excess if slightly over-filled. Done it once myslef, no issues. N

Its dry sump, so there can't be too much oil in the engine (unless the scavenging pump has failed), only the oil tank. Not a problem.

Apart from.... in rapid cornering eg a roundabout, if above max mark some oil will be sucked up vent tube into air filter, not ideal but will gradually seep out again down the air inlet duct.

For trackday enthusiasts on sticky tyres you need oil to be half-way between max & min, or same thing happens if corner enthusiastically

Personally, I'd remove it. Had to do this at Pembrey track few months back through a tube.....

Buy a turkey baster to suck up, or even cheaper a few metres of large CLEAR plastic tube (eg 20mm wide) from DIY/fish supplies shop, then you can see it before it gets too close!

Has anyone tried capping off the original inlet box orifice and simply venting the dry sump tank to an overflow vessel to prevent excess oil ending up in the inlet box.?

thanks tallslide i tried it last night but it took ages as the tube was to small.
Off down to DIY shop to get bigger tube today.

I did the same thing a while back. A turkey baster at 99p did the trick. Just sucked out from the tank about 50-75 ml at atime into a jar held next to the tank till enough removed.
