speedo problem T350

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help, my speedo needle has stopped working, the digital read out is fine showing the correct speed and all the other parameters seem to be correct. I did have some intermittent trouble with the pod diplay freezing, however pulling off the ribon cables and re-plugging seemed to fix the problem. Now when I first turn the iginition key the start up sequence beep/chime has vanished!, however the rev counter still makes an audible chime on start up and works as normal! I have taken the dashpod to bits as well as the dash ecu! I suspect it could be the speedo servo?? Has anyone else experienced this? my car is a 2004 tvr t350c.

Hi,

I assume when you go into the Service menu that you cannot alter the start position of the digital speed readout?

I would say that the speedo motor is gone (its probably some stepper motor based on the way it moves) - you could possibly stick a multimeter (or a oscilloscope) on the terminals to see if there are signals going to it.

Tried adjusting the service menu but needle does not move, will take your advice and test the power
