Has anyone had a quote for Tamora insurance yet? I've tried Peart Insurance this weekend, and got a quote over the net of £790 - not bad for such a car. Any others/ - gb16390 - Andrew, you must have organised a quote by now?

Hi Guys,
I got a quote of £671 from Mark Abbott at Cheam 020 8770 1001. Give him a try and mention me. Maybe I can get an even better quote if I pass some people his way !!

Only tried Sunninghill (my current insurer) and they quoted £710. That's just £8 more than I was paying for my Chimaera! I plan to get a few more quotes as my policy runs out in 3 weeks.
Cheers...... Andrew

let me recommend Tesco on the web. When Independent went under I got my Cerbera insured through them and it was cheaper. try something like www.tesco.com

Just spoke to Tesco and they quoted me £872! A LOT more than Sunninghill. And they needed a Tracker fitted! (They don't have any Tamora details yet do this quote was based on a S6 Cerbera!)

Tesco did me £1749 and insisted on Tracker for my Chim 450. This, needless to say is way higher than I am paying but still not as amusing as Elephant.co.uk that weighed in at a whopping £5459!

Insurance I am sure depends on the time of day, the combined weight of all the leaves in Croydon and whether the operator has clean socks on.

Matt.

PS Why is it that you insure a car for a sum, when it comes to them paying up they give you the market value not the sum insured? So surely, on that basis they should ask the model or the value, but not both!

Weird That. I was Bristol City Centre Based and no mention of Tracker. Although my premium was high at 1600 for cerb S6, it was still a lot lower than everyone else I had tried. 28 yrs old full NCB etc. 3 points for SP30. Oh well, you dont know until you try.

I've added your car (in the members' cars) bit into the new "Ted's Choice" list of cars of particular interest. I hope you'll be able to keep us informed of the ownership experience via that and via the Gassing Station!

I looked at the tesc site - it is obviously a rebrand of Privilege (/direct line). The premium from tesco is about 6 ot 7 % cheaper than priv though - wish I had tried them first. I got a quote of £717 for my cerbera 4.5. from tesco and £770 from Priv.

The best quote I've got is from A Manning. They came back with £595.28, £300 XS, limited to 5000 miles but I can up that and pay a little extra if and when I need to. Not bad for a Tamora, only a small amount more than the Griff 500 last year.

Hi, Andrew. When did you send the photos? - I checked my e-mail last night and nothing came through. Send them again, mate!

My quote was from A Manning, and I also had a quote of £695 from Direct Line, but that's with compulsory Tracker, so forget that! Looking forward to those snaps..

Nick, my quote is based on 8000 miles, so unless your area is entirely polpulated by Policemen, I uess that's the extra mileage cost.

Lastly, I rang TVR yesterday, and my car has passed SVA, and is ready for the dealer to collect. So I rang HHC, and they've been to the factory this morning, with LandRover and empty trailer, and came back with nowt - no-one had bothered to tell them the car's ready, and they didn't enquire. But I reckon I should have it by next week!!

Nubbin, sent the photos again to your 'lineone.net' id and got 'mailbox disk quota exceeded'! They're all zipped up so don't think they're that big?

That's typical of a dealer to got so close to getting your car and then not bothering!

Cheers..... Andrew
