Hi All

Just driven to cheltenham from home around 65 miles, Oil sensor still playing up, stays at around 23 degress then jumps to 79 then ran fine, so no big deal i suppose, as long as it is reading true.

Another questions: Is it normal for the gear Knob and handbrake to get very hot to the point were it is almost to hot to hold!

Any advice

Thanks

Stephen

As a few people have said before, the transmission tunnel gets very hot and the gear stick holds a lot of heat so it's pretty normal in hot weather.

Yes my gear stick and gear Knob gets very hot especially on long journeys, and extra specially the last three days with temps as high as 27degC. Had to use a rag to change gear cos it was so hot to touchyikes

Had some great runs around the area with the top off, loads of porkas etc, but no Tivscry

Put loads of sun cream on but still look like a lobsterredcard

Gear knob can be changed for carbon/ceramic one.

Have changed my gear stick for ceramic and now cool

Hand brake not done that but guess that could be a carbon grip too

I had my gearstick replaced with ceramic last year (at TvR). It didn't survive the test drive before snapping! Ian wasn't confident to begin with - apparently theres a lot of load put on those stubby sticks.

To be fair the supplier (on PH) reimbursed me immediately and made the point that this was the first one, from half a dozen he had sold, that had snapped. I might have been unlucky, but just wanted to give you a heads up.

Also, would advise NOT using Loctite on the gearknob thread (in pic above). Mine had and consequently was a swine to remove - utterly mullered the knob.

Thanks for that

No Loctite!!!

Photo may suggest, but that is for the gearstick into the anti vibe mount only NOT THE KNOB
