Racing Red Nitrons

I know there was a thread on this a while back but was there any feedback on the shocks?

I need to upgrade mine as when i hit 80mph i turn into a nervous wreck and hadly dare move the steering wheel.

Which would be the best option for my T350 for some spirited driving and a couple of track days a year?

I think the fully adjustable would be a bit of overkill for what i need so it's between the Bilsteins and Racing Reds from what i can see.

I think you need a full geometry set up by the sound of it plus new shocks. I took mine to Top Cats Racing at Aylesbury, did a first class job completely transformed the car. They have had a lot of recomendations on PH. Good luck. Call Warren 07850 698700.

I need new shocks because everytime i get in the car it makes a groaning noise, could just be the car trying to tell me something though!

Did you have new shocks aswell? if so which ones?

Seems to me that what you need is to get the suspension settings checked by a handling expert familiar with this model, and then if you still aren't comfortable get some more training. Otherwise you could easily spend a lot of money and end up with a more comfy ride but the same handling/confidence issue you have now.

I appreciate what you're saying but i have definately got at least one faulty rear shock which i'm 99% sure is the problem. I don't want a comfy ride but i don't want to worry everytime i get a shift on.

Did you have new shocks aswell? if so which ones?

Yes I had Nitrons fitted. Transformed the car completely, along with the Geom set up and corner weighting.
You will feel completly safe at high speeds. Go for it.

You hadn't mentioned that before. Is it just the noise that makes you think it is faulty? It's extremely common for dampers to make a noise, and not any reason to assume it's affecting the operation of the damper.

Sorry, i didn't mention that as i knew mine weren't 100% and i just wanted to know what a good replacement would be. It's not just the noise i'm worried about, there's a slight trace of oil on the rod which can't be good? I suspect they could be re-built but i've got some spare cash burning a hole in my pocket and i want an upgrade.

Hi all. After enduring my T350c skipping and wallowing all over the road for 2 years, bit the bullet and invested in a full set of racing reds. Must say all credit to Heath Briggs and Paul of X WORKS service for their first class job and expert geometry set up which has transformed my car into what it should have been when it left the factory. Tested at Kirkbride airfield and on a standing half mile, maxed at 142 mph in 4th and thanks to X WORKS, the car felt like it was on rails! B roads and roundabouts are a joy to drive and urge all of the real drivers to convert.
