Drivers fan on perminetly

Hi

My radiator fan on the drivers side comes on as soon as i turn on the ignition on my Sagaris and stays on untill i turn the ignition off !

Tried to trace back the wires from the fan to find the relitive switch or sensor but very difficult to trace back as its hidden in areas.

Any ideas please ?

Almost certainly a failed trinary switch. It's the unit just to the right of the front engine bay whith three wires coming from it. You could try checking the connections but it'll probably need a new switch and then a re-gas of the a/c.

I was thinking the same !

Because when you replace the trinary switch you have to 'exhaust' the a/c system, fit the new switch and then re-gas.

Does anybody know why they only last a few months? I forgotten how many of these I have bought over the last few years.

If i replace the switch will the a/c "exhaust" as the switch is removed ? Or do i need to do this else where before i remove the switch ?

Is it a garage job to re gas ?

What is the methord to re gas ?

The contacts corrode easily

Smear silicone grease around the wires to stop water getting in then usually OK

Discharge through valve with grey H cap on opposite side

Garage job to recharge 725cc & 60cc of pag46 lube oil

Not familiar with the Sag but does it have two fan relays, one for each fan?

Could it not just be a faulty relay if that is the case?

could be relay, so swap R23 & R51 realys before changing trinary

Had this on my 05 Sag.

It was the trinary switch as mentioned above. The Trinary switch is located in the air con system, which is why it needs to be degassed to remove and regassed once replaced.
