Hello All, just thought I'd say hi.
I'm a newbie to TVRs, but will be picking up my freshly purchased Sagaris (black) next week, all being well with the 12K service it has just gone in for. I'm so incredibly excited you wouldn't believe it.
I've come from a fairly decent line of performance cars including (ascending date order): Pug 106GTI, Subaru Impreza WRX (2.5ltr forged 400bhp), Lotus Exige S, Audi RS4 (B7 V8 440bhp), and Honda Civic Type R, but nothing has really ever caught my imagination (or eardrums) like the Sagaris!!
Hey I know that bits and pieces fall off them from time to time, but I'm willing to trade that against the pace/power/purpose of the thing.
hopefully I can call on the advice of you lot when the first little calamity happens

Just a few things to note about your Sag ownership...
I`m sure you aware of the oil upto 60c+ before 4000rpm and 70c+ before above that.. you`ll also need to get the car 'tuned' every 1500 to 2000 miles to get the idle adjusted or you can do it yourself, just a screw.. The idle drops from around 900rpm to 750rpm and it will stall when you turn on air con (I get it set to around 1050rpm)
Apart from that don`t push the power in the wet, she`ll spin the wheels at almost anyspeed (i.e. 60 mph with tail going requires some quick reactions, however as her set-up is great it's not too hard a job..)
I always put the car in for a 12k mile service each year reguardless of milage, for example its in at the moment with 15k on the clock (just been told the engine looks great - phew
)

I was aware of the warm-up requirement, but not the other stuff about the idle setting - so many, many thanks!! I will take all that on board, and probably get back to you for more advice when I first need to tinker with that screw ....
I've always been over-zealous with servicing my other cars (current hand-built Subaru engine has been serviced at 7500 mile intervals instead of 10000 for example, and had oil changed every 3000 since new), so I do intend to look after the Sag.. My only real worry is the kind of treatment it might have had before me .... it has 11K on the clock (just going in for 12K service before I pick it up), and 3 previous owners....

Its always a concern, I had around 11k on the clock when I picked her up but dealer gave me assurances that the previous owners (of which there were 2) had all been fully informed on the correct starting and operating procedures and they confirmed the car's engine looked to confirm that..
I don`t really push the car that much, I didn`t buy it for the amazing acceleration (albiet its very nice..) so even when hot she rarely gets too much stick..
Anyway, 4k miles on and its in with the local (N.Ireland) servicer and he's given it a clean bill of health saying the engine looks very good - no problems.
Should be a few more days before I pick her up as we're waiting on some shim's that royal mail have lost in the post!
