Oil level

going to start my baby tonight after 2 months, question is:
Tvr power made me a replacement dipstick for the oil resovoir, can anyone be kind enough if there vehicle is at hand to measure the from the top of the dipstick to the min/max oil levels and let me know the distances.

Just measured mine out of an 06 T350c 3.6

The maximum level hole is 175mm from the inside of the cap.

The minimum level hole is 220mm from the inside of the cap.

So from the inside of the cap (not the bottom of the cap) it is 175mm = max and 220mm = min ?
Is reading the oil level as simple as a regular car without a dry sump?
Is there any reason the car left standing four 2 months or more would give an inaccurate reading?...i would think it would be more accurate?

Yeap, they were from the inside of the cap....will try to get a picture to ensure that they are the same.
The oil level has to be checked when the engine is up to temperature and immediately you switch the engine off as far as I know. Well thats what I do....

Definitely. You could have an engine that has too much oil in it, but when cold it would still look like it was low on the dipstick. The true reading is when the engine is hot, hot, hot. The hotter the better.

Yes I was pretty close to topping mine up the other day when i read the manual. I then went for a drive and tested once i got back and it was at the right amount. So spoil yourself take it out for a spin
