Solution to the curly glove box lid-maybe!!

Hi

Loving my T350t all is good and calm with her now, however it has one imperfection that really bugs me and i dont think i can live with:

The banana glove box lid, it seems to grin and smile at me saying there is nothing you can do about me you just have to grin and bear it as i have to with you.

So after checking out this site and speaking to lots of TVR specialists, I think i may have come up with a solution that might work.

I saw this on a Zonda, it is 2 straps in leather attached to the top of the glove box lid with very nice alu fixings which then went down and under and pulled tight underneath, this would definetely work and was just wondering what peoples thoughts were?

Got the same problem, very annoying. The later TVRs had a magnet instead of the catch. I prefer the magnet.

Ive got the magnet on mine as i have a later car, but it is a design fault in that when they glued the leather onto the plastic lid when the glue dried over time with the heat it made the lid bend

If you take the spring out and reverse it the lid will start to take it's correct shape again over time. There is a thread somewhere on here on how to do it.

lid replaced on the Tam as it is slowing me down (LOL)

Catch? Magnets? Mine has a velcro disc!!!!!!! Anyway it fits perfect, not seen many that do though.

Thanks to this guy i have now fixed the problem by just reversing the springs as suggested in this link:
