Help - something leaking...!

Hi all.
Just pulled up from a cross-town drive and noticed rather a lot of steam / smoke from under the bonnet.
On closer inspection this appears to be an oily substance, but does not smell like engine oil. Just before arriving, I had the car on full lock at slow speeds whilst trying to avoid cars / buses / cyclists etc. and as I pulled away there way a distinct (and unusual) whining noise.
I traced the lines back in all directions and my best guess is that this is power steering fluid. Any comments / suggestions?
