Looking at these 2 350C's in the classifieds does anyone know them or the owners etc? Just after a little more info if poss on condition and history;

This one worries me a little due to the mileage and the 03 engine (IIRC the 04 engine is the more reliable?) though if it's had a rebuild or can be had cheaply enough may well make a good buy.

top one looks nice but high millege, whilst the second may have low millege but for that price i would recommend phoning them up to see if it has been cat d registered, price is to good for millege, which is something i learned when buying mine a few weeks back,
to my knowledge cat d's arnt always a bad thing, due to time it takes to get parts, and how much parts cost sometimes makes it un economical for insurance companies to repair. so u can get a bargain,

Cheers Carl, I've started a new topic on the red one in the general TVR forum, phoned the dealer for more info which has confused me a little more. It's totally HPI clear so no worries there.
Only cause for concern for me is the 27000 miles with no rebuild on an 03 engine. IIRC the 04s are slightly stronger form what I've read and the price is too close to a low mileage 04. If purchased and the engine went pop it'd put it a couple of grand above those 04 examples and therefore not worth it.
Confused now - though I also do love the black one in Scotland.

Hi Zippee. I think the black one used to be owned by a chap down near cornwall who used to work in the city.
He sold it onto a garage who marked it up 3/4k and sold it after a few months
Find out if it used to be registed to a chap in cornwall or london.
This will be 12 months ago now.

Quick update - just spoken with Dreadnought regarding the black Scottish one. They've only serviced it once back in June at 13500 miles where they carried out a 6k service and fitted a new oil pressure sender.
They mentioned they'd recommended to the owner that a valve check/tappet adjustment was required but the owner declined which to me is always a bad sign as I'd have thought it was a key part of the maintenance on these cars.

yes - definitely off the list. I'm 'supposed' to be waiting but am getting itchy feet. I'm not going to miss a good car for the sake of a couple of months. Going to see the reflex purple one on Saturday (BTW are you in the UK - looking for a taxi service if you're about

Sounds very nice, front end respray and wheels refurbished by them. Will come serviced and with a years MOT. Has got the roof bags, air con etc. Apparently they've just knocked the price down from 25 to 22 and so won't take any offers. I hate to pay asking price so don't want to look as I'd prefer to knock a grand off.

Needs a bit of work (stone chips, diff bushes & a couple of wishbone bushes) so I wouldn't be happy paying asking but I love the colour and would like a closer look.
The Castle 350T I'd be more than happy to pay cash this weekend at 21 but I was told in no uncertain terms no offers!

I`m sure that if 21 was on the table they would find it very difficult to turn it down. I carn`t imagine that they are selling enough cars to be that adament in these credit crunch days! I would say that its certainly worth a look if the car is right. Just my 2p worth

Hi Nigel - your probably right - it's just the flat refusal when I mentioned offers (didn't even get round to discussing a figure) by Ben at Castle that gave me that impression. They mentioned it'd be given a basic service (not including valve adj) but TBH I'd rather pay 21 (or even better - less) and pay for the full service to be done by Matt. I'm always a little distrusting when a service is included with a purchase that they'll just do the bare minimum.
Plus anything found wrong could potentially be claimed under their 3 month warranty.
