LED Bulbs

Has any one fitted these to replace the side brake and indicator bulbs?

Not replaced indicator but brake light and rear lights, brake lights were not as bright as original so but the old ones back in, but rear lights look good, as for front sides did replace looked ok..... but one blew after 2 months (only had 3 led on the head of bulb) so ended up putting the philips 'blue vision'(dont look blue when on good...)in and they are a bit brighter than the standerd ones less yellow a bit more white, hope this helps

Well got some put them in and they didnt work.Apparently they need resistors putting in for each bulb not to happy about splicing my loom so may have a rethink

No, just swap over the spade connectors with each other on the bulb holders that did the trick for me

Did they not illuminate at all?
Should work fine, the only problem is the indicator flash rate but that can be sorted fairly easily.

No didnt light up put them in my girlfriends car and they worked fine

I have them fitted to the side lights of the Tam.
No real improvement of the sidelights (apart from a brillient white with a blue tinge) BUT, the headlights are now a LOT brighter. I don't know why - maybe someone else can do the electrical maths, but my GUESS is that the lighting circuit was at the limit of its power rating, so by changing the sidelight bulbs to LED (which draw less energy), then the headlights have more electrical energy getting to them, which in turn makes them brighter? As I said, only a guess but they are brighter and I can't see a small LED sidelight bulb making all that difference?

JUST GOT SOME FOR MY SAG,DIDNT WORK TOO.EMAILED SELLER TONIGHT,SO AFTER READING THIS THREAD HE WILL SAY THAT I NEAD RESISTORS TOO.COST £12 FOR 2 WITH THE 3 LEDS IN 1.NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY IF I GO THROUGH ALL THIS WORK AND THEY ARE NOT BRIGHTER,THAT WAS THE THE WHOLE IDEA IN THE FIRST PLACE.PROTECT MY PRIDE AND JOY,WITH BRIGHTER REAR LIGHTS.IS IT EASY DO DO THE RESISTORS?

If you're replacing side/brake lamps with led versions and they don't light then it's just a case of swapping the connections as j3gme said.

For the indicators the flasher circuit relies on it being loaded so you need a load resistor to make them flash.

You should be able to fit a wide load flasher relay. Does anyone know what sort is fitted standard. Is it a plug in 2 or 3 pin?

my sidelight leds are polarity dependant, if you put them in and dont work, just turn the bulb around in the holder, this is for the w501 sidelights, i guess with rears etc you just swap connectors as stated. I really like the look of the side lights, went from a yellow, to a bright white in keeping with the HID's

bought the ones with the resistors included, but only needed them for the front indicators.
