Whats all this noise?

It's my Sag pumping out a healthy 104.9db

Now on to the rolling road.

Aww a baby - mine was over 105db on tickover the other day (measured by a mate who has a DB reader on his phone).

I love the sound of my Sagaris but sometimes I just wondering what it would sound like a few db's louder.. how the pops and bangs might "improve"

Thing is there are so many variables to this.
Engine temp
Exhaust temp
Cats in or out
Straight throughs
Back / no back box
End cans
Taken at idle or at certain revs
Fuel used

It is a question of audible tastes I suppose. IMO I do prefer it. There are more bangs and pops. Good thing is that they give you the cats so you can always replace them if you do not like it.

Did you remap it? I would like to De Cat mine but a few people have said it needs a remap if you do?

I did have a remap with the decat. I find the pick up from 1500rpm to be much stronger. I am told it has increased the bhp and torque as well as the volume. I will find out by how much when the rolling road day comes around.

Nope they are fine without re-map.

As long as it is already in good tune it will be freer revving and give you more power!
and noise though, 105-6Dba which can be track day fail!

If you don't like the louder noise or track it, Tim at ACT will make you some shiney noise sapping cans (97dba)that still give you that extra power and free revving

That is effing loud and sounds fishy to me especially as it was read from a phone...! There's a good reason why sound meters cost a lot (like a grand plus). I'd be amazed if it was in fact 105dB using the standard testing method (0.5m from the exhaust tip at 45°).
