T350 wet on the floor?

I have noticed that there is a wet area on the floor on my T350. It is on the Driver's side floor, near the door and is also damp on the lower part of the sill (not puddles per se, but the carpet is very wet). I have checked around the door seals and the sill directly below this and it doesn't appear to be wet there.

Has anyone experienced this type of "wetness" , and knows what the cause might be?

Normally its the window/door seal- funnily it s never wet directly at the window- I think 80% of us have the same problem (it sometimes settles when you readjust the doors or buy new seals- hence the old TVR adage "which fish do you bread in your footwell...."

Ford focus door seals fit (cut too size) and a lot thicker more water tight less wind noise only £3.00 each from my local scrap yard

Focus Mark I or II and where do you cut to size (this could be very good news, as especially the wind noise is annoying)

Thx for the answers. If it is this, have also heard that plastic pipe, like windscreen washer tube fed in the rubber helps.

Will look into the Focus rubber though

Done that with washer tube inserted into the door rubbers........ not as good as replacing with the ford focus rubbers MK1 I think but I wouldnt of thought it matterd. have got some pictures on another topic but hoe do you set a link up???

Could also be the rubber gromet which fills the hole where a set of cables comes through from the engine into the cabin has fallen out - that happened to mine

You could also try woolies trim who have a similar seal but with a bigger bead - part number 266

Well, I've soured a Ford focus (facelift Mk1) door seal from a 5 door. This fits with a little cut off. As you can see the seal is significantly thicker, with more effective layers of rubber when closed. This only issue I have found so far is that I need to shut the door very hard to get the seal squashed enough. I am a little worried that this is too hard to be any good for the car, as I used to only have to shut it gently - I have added a pic of the different profiles:



Let me know if you have tried thicker seals and found them too thick!

Have you tried new TVR door seals? The problem is usually caused if your seals are either not sealed onto the frame properly or the two 'dimples' in the seal are missing (these are there to allow any water ingress to run outside the seal and not into the car).

Edited to say: Slamming the door is probably going to shorten the life of the micro sensors in your catch mechanisms (which sense door open/closed and raise/lower the window).

Hi Barry, I did my roof loop a couple of weeks ago and got the seal from Clever Trevor. It is stiffer than standard so tightens everything up. May be worth a go. Ed
