Tamora headlight cover help?

Hi,

I have noticed the nice painted edging on my offside headlight cover has been steadily getting worse (flaking), so much so that I gave it a little tug and the whole thing just came off. I asked the dealer about this a while ago and was told "that's character of the mark" Blah blah blah.

Anyway, I have bought a can of spray paint to re-spary the lens cover, but what the heck do I use to stick it back on with?

It looks like a good strong black rubber sealant has been used by TVR. Halfrauds couldn't help when I popped by today.

Although the headlight looks better with the lens cover off (IMO)I really should stick it back on before a stone hits the glass.

Any ideas or advice from anyone who has done this before would be appreciated.

You need Sikaflex - 255 Primerless adhesive.
You can get this from most motor factors.

Have just done the OSF light on my Tam. I was told to use Sikaflex 221. Works a treat and sticks like S**t to a blanket. Quite a long cure time but this stuff is far superior to the silicone stuff in B&Q. As for the black band, mine lifted when I removed the cover so I carefully scratched it off and re-painted it. Looks good as new now

Thanks for that. Sikaflex it is then.
Just googled it and it looks like you can only buy a hugemungous great tube of the stuff. Typical. Oh well.

Maybe Autoglass will have some of this stuff when I go for my new windscreen next week? (if I can wait that long.....)

Use sikaflex221 to bond to body, but use ambersil to seal to the gap thats left left

Which of the ambersil sealants should you use. There are a few 5024/34 are silicone varients?
