Heater control unit

Had the car in to Castle today to get the heater fixed on the Tam as its bloody cold without it working. Its not the heater flap motor as they tried the new one they ordered and it still did not work (error 24 heater flap). They said it might be 'heater control unit' where dose this live and what dose it look like? is it a repair type job or can you buy new ones? There is a unit under the pasanger side dash with a plug on it that when you remove it the blower stops. Is this what needs replacing?
We do have hot air now as they set the flap to hot when they put it back together so I am not going to freeze anytime soon but I want to get it fixed.

Had the same problem on my T350C a couple of weeks ago. The heater control unit sits behind and above the pasenger footwell. If you lift out the floor carpet then remove the carpet covered fibreglass vertical panel that runs across the far end of the footwell you'll see a unit similar to the one on Varley's page except all black. There are a bunch of wires going to it which attach via a black plastic block connector. That has two prongs that run either side of the connector which you need to squeeze to pull apart and so disconnect. Mine had one of the 4 pins corroded. I cleaned up the pin (and the female part of the connector that the pin slides into) and this fixed the problem. The connection was still a little intermittent if you waggled the block so I used a bit of plastic covered garden wire to pull it to one side permanently which cured it.
Yes it appears to be working again now, having spent an hrs labour at Castle to find out it was not the motor. me thinks a little investagative work is needed to check its not a loose connection. The pins look OK an have not melted/corroded from what I can see so a loose terminal is a good theory
