Fans staying on after car turned off?

Hi guys,

Hoping somebody can help with this problem. Turned car off this evening and noticed that the fans were still on after I had turned it off, this has never happened before and water temperature was low. I thought I would leave it for 5 minutes and see if it stopped itself.

5 minutes later it was still going, so I tried starting the car and turning it off a few times, still the same. If I remove the fuse for the fans they obivously turn off and I have tried disconnecting the 80 amp fuse in the passenger footwell hoping to "reset" everything, but that has had no effect.

Does anybody have any ideas? At the minute I have pulled the fuse to stop it killing the battery.

A few people have had a similar problem on the Tuscan forum after a bit more searching, but their fans were only kicking in once the ignition was on, they tracked it back to the "Trinary switch". My fans are coming off even when the ignition is off though!

I had this on my T350. Checked the fuses etc., and the relay was not fully in it's seat. Pushed it in and problem went away!

Yep. Just give them all a push. Can't recall which are the fans, but it's in the manual.

The fuse box on T-cars is an amusing arrangement. Who decided to put it upside down? its not as if that would help with water ingress any more than the other way up.

Not long after getting my car back in 2004 a spade fuse feel out onto my leg, I couldn't find anything which had stopped working so I kept it safe, but never found its home. Since that time I've kept well away from the fuse box in fear of prodding something which might then loosen/fall out. Luckily no fuses have blown and I've not needed to touch it in 4.5 years.

There are some spare fuses that don't hold in very well!

The spares sit with the yellow removal insertion tool above the bottom right yellow relay in the photo

Pulled the relay out and put it back in, problem sorted.
