Sagaris Trivia
Discussion
I have to put together a few little known facts about the Sagaris within about 24 hours! Anyone got any little interesting trivia. Facts, figures, stories. Also was the Number's built problem solved, something between 125-150? When the first one was delivered and when the last was? Anything you think might be relevant? Thanks!

Actually no it never really was sorted properly. But it was in the uk for the past month and the dealer i had it with noticed it was fitted with the incorrect ecu chip and a few other bits and pieces that the other dealers i had it with had not ever noticed
I haven't had a chance to drive it since but they assure me it is a totally different car and i am really looking forward to getting my hands on it! Hopefully it will be the sagaris it should always have been
How about yourself how do you enjoy sagaris ownership?

Hope all is well - not caught up for some time now. Hope the Sagaroo will be ok now and if you have any probs let me know and we can get you sorted with the right contacts.
In fact the last time was the Celtic Gathering. Are you going to the one in Scotland this coming year?

I know it's been ages hasn't it! I was meant to bring it to Belfast for a check up but couldn't make it as things have just been way too hectic. I'm unable to drive at the moment because i had to have an operation on my knee to sort out my cruciate ligament. I doubt i will make scotland next year
Definitly the next one in ireland i hope! Plus i hope to be up at kirki a few times next year though probably not in the sag! How have you been keeping?

• The TVR Sagaris has no Anti lock Brake System, Traction Control, Stability Control, or even air bags
• The Tvr Sagaris has no door handles inside or outside
• It has a bulge on the driver's side to allow the driver to wear a crash helmet on track
• Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson described its styling as though it were "Designed by a lunatic and then hit with an axe."
• Sagaris is a type of ancient battle axe
• Because the Sagaris weighs just 1078 kg, it has a power to weight ratio higher than Ferrari F430, Ford GT and a Porsche 911 GT2
• Originally the slots on the bonnet were cut straight through but because of safety issues that did not make it to the final production car.

• The Tvr Sagaris has no door handles inside or outside again a TVR feature throughout the range (well the ones newer than the Chim/griff)
• It has a bulge on the driver's side to allow the driver to wear a crash helmet on track true
• Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson described its styling as though it were "Designed by a lunatic and then hit with an axe." As described in the Hot Metal DVD - can be found on YouTube under my secion boo2660

True but we don't want to say because they didn't want to spend extra money on it

I thought the slots were canned due to the fact they sucked gravel / road debris up on to the windscreen?
As for the axe bit - it is actually an ancient Greek Axe...

See my reply and I have managed fine for the past 12 months...why do people insist on believing other people instead of the ones who actually have first hand experience and knowledge.. *sigh*Claire

That's blatently untrue - never stopped them with the Tuscan 2 spoiler ;-)
As for facts, how about the side facing exhausts? They must have been the only ones on a production car at the time?
What about the width? Does the extra 10mm track make it the widest TVR (certainly widest speed 6 with maybe the exception of the Cerby)?
The 19inch wheels which I believe were the original intention before they noticed they didn't actually fit (gaffer?)
Speaking of cost cutting - they also changed the body coloured interior panels for 'normal' ones.
Was the work of 3 different owners; designed by PW, tweaked and released by NS and possibly revised and sold again soon as the Saggy 2.
_DeeJay_ ~ That would be interesting if it was the only side facing exhausts but i don't think thats true. The aero 8 for one has been doing that since 2000
I'm just looking for strange facts that people who've never seen a tvr will understand. I'm not sure they'd care it was the widest produced
Gaffer what is the reason for the slats not done? Cost i would assume?

Other main problem is my electrics are exposed, they sit ontop of the fans so the water drips off the first moveable panel on the service bonnet right onto the exposed wires. That can sometimes cause a few error codes but when she dries out everything is fine.

As for facts, how about the side facing exhausts? They must have been the only ones on a production car at the time? depends on if you count something like the cobra / westfield type vehicles
What about the width? Does the extra 10mm track make it the widest TVR (certainly widest speed 6 with maybe the exception of the Cerby)? the Sp12 was wider as was the CF Tuscan but they arent production models as such
The 19inch wheels which I believe were the original intention before they noticed they didn't actually fit (gaffer?) they were 20 inch wheels at the motorshow - Dom has 19 on his Sagaris****
Speaking of cost cutting - they also changed the body coloured interior panels for 'normal' ones. no, thats practicality - the interor gets very hot around the transmission tunnel - I have come away with a handbrake shaped burn on my arm before now
Was the work of 3 different owners; designed by PW, tweaked and released by NS and possibly revised and sold again soon as the Saggy 2. well 2 owners PRW and NS

- * Dom's black Sagaris is the first Production model made and is the car in the film The Call with Naoimi Campbell and John Malcovich
