Big brake kits

I would like to change the brakes on my Sag, the brakes look very small in the wheels especially the rear ones. I seem to be able to find ones for the Cerby but nothing for the Sag.

Has any one changed theirs on a 350, tam or Sag or does anyone know of where to get some. I think I will try and get some AP's with brackets made if needed, I am sure I could get a disributor as well if putting bigger brakes on the back.

The problem you will come across is the rear handbrake, which is incorporated in the rear caliper on all the cars ,except the Cerbera.

Is it just for aesthetics or are you actually needing bigger brakes? We run 330mm fronts on our race car (my std cerbera upgrade) and it's been fine, you would never need anything bigger on a road car no matter how track focussed you think it might become. If youre just doing it for aesthetics though and don't mind screwing up your brake balance and making the car a liability (unless you go for a scientific approach which may or may not be in keeping with the bigger is better approach to brake kits) then the sky's the limit really, but as said above the rear handbrake in the rear caliper would be sensible to keep so you'd need custom rear discs on custom bells there, not difficult and most engineering shops can turn something up for you.

trackcar, I love track work but have to be honest its mainly for ashetics. If I were to change the rears I would want to put a balance control on it so all the pressure was going to the front. If a total pain I will not do it as I don't want to compromise.

Have you got anything I can fit to the front? If so how much are we talking, quite happy to get this by email in my profile.

For the front you can fit the bigger TuscanS/Sagaris disks and use caliper adapters (this is what these cars have on the front). TVR Power can supply. Note that a bit of fiddling around may be needed to make the caliper adapters fit. I think any rear upgrades involve much more work/cost.

IMO just doing this for aesthetics is a bit Max Power.

I know what you mean about max power but the rear disks and calipers on our 1 series sport are bigger than those on the Sag and it just makes it look wrong especially as I would like to increase to 19" wheels next year.

No fiddling if they are the correct size.

Need to be 9mm thick with M10 x 80 Gr 12.9 caps

On my standard Sagaris I don't feel confidence on braking. Several times I've head heart-in-the-mouth moments when cars in front have stopped suddenly or I have misjudged things.

I think it could be the pads though. Initially there is not enough bite for confidence, then you get adequate braking, and then lock-up. My Chimaera 500 had much more progressive braking and gave more confidence, although I'm sure the Sagaris has far greater retardation due to vastly bigger swept area.

Any idea which pads I could try?

You will get massively sharper brakes with Carbotech pads.Do a search for carbotech (europe ) and have a chat with Tim Stamper.If they do not do suitable pads then he can bond carbotech onto your old backing plates( just give him the correct thickness.Simon.
