Break Fluid

Hi All,

I have a T350 and the brake fluid warning is starting to flash up, can anyone tell me what fluid I should use and is it easy to top up the resevoir? is it just case case of topping up, I havn't had a look for the reservoir yet, I assume its clearly visible under the bonnet?

Do you mean the warning light flashes/flickers on for a while then goes out? I get this on mine (have tried adjusting the handbrake position) but the level in the resevoir is absolutely fine.
BTW - the brake fluid resevoir is in the drivers footwell, just above & behind the accelerator pedal.

not yet - starting to like it a little more now. Though she does feel very unstable/twitchy on full acceleration which I'm hoping can be cured with better shocks. Got a few problems at present to which shes due back to Castle (again) to try and sort out. Most important being low idle oil pressure and high water temp which I'm almost certain is a duff rad. Get steam out of the bonnet when at standstill and hot which is quite embarrassing in the middle of town.

How are you finding yours?

Thats not good - hope you get it sorted out.

I'm loving mine toooooooooooo much. Find myself making this really difficult decision in the mornings recently; its pouring with rain or pretty icy - do I risk it and take the Tiv or stick with the Volvo Shed70 ? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Maybe I'm still too sensitive but have been using the S70 alot also blasts in the 350 though

Roll on the better weather.

Why is that? Genuine question as my car still has a teeny bit of warranty so if theres potentially something wrong I'd like to know now rather than pay myself later!

Why is that? Genuine question as my car still has a teeny bit of warranty so if theres potentially something wrong I'd like to know now rather than pay myself later!

The clutch and brake resevoir are combined. Its very unlikely you'll be losing fluid through the braking system on such a new car. The dreaded clutch slave cylinder is the most likely cause of fluid loss. Keep a look out for drops towards the rear of the engine.

I maybe wrong of course as normally by the time the low fluid is registering gear selection has become a problem.

Cheers for replys, booked into Leven on Monday for them to have a once over on the ramp!! tried looking at the resevoir, not easy to see, I cant tell if its to level or not, i'm geussing not as I cant see a diferent colured liquid inside...

Thanks for that. I'm not losing any fluid as far as I can tell (though it's sometimes hard to take out of gear) but I'll get Castle to check when it goes in on Monday.
