TAMORA WINDSCREEN AT AUTO GLASS

hi all

will be having a new windscreen fitted by autoglass over xmas on my tamora

has anyone had one fitted by autoglass ! and have you any tips incase the guys find any problems

can you still get original tvr logo screens

I am having my T350 done on the 29th at AutoGlass. My insurance will only pay a bit if I go somewhere else. When I went to them a couple of weeks ago they were doing a Tamora at the end of the week for somebody in Gosport.
I have asked them if they are fully insured against any damage but I too would like to no if I should be concerned about anything.

I'm waiting for a new screen from Autoglass, their having problems finding one. Do you know were they sourced your from, I think the T350 and Sag are the same.

the screens normally come from David Gerald when Autoglass place an order.

Had mine changed by Autoglass is Chelmsford, they did an A1 job, they said the T350 was a lot easier than the Cerbera they had done before. They couldn't get a screen and someone on here told me that David Gerald had some so I put them onto them and they sorted it all out from there

David Gerald has them in stock and the Auto Glass branch is 10 mins away. Rang Auto glass again and they've told me, they have to order them from their main hub in Leicester. From there its sent out to Redditch branch.

It's been on order for over a week!

i remember waiting 6 months with AutoGlass last year...
fitting is ok but not perfect...

They told me it came from Plymouth - and then went to their main hub and out to Portsmouth. It only took a couple of days to get it in but if you read my other mail today, my clutch has died so the screen fitting will have to be delayed.

That was mine they did. The chap who fitted it was called Steve. A lovely bloke, who really took his time with it. He did a fantastic job and really went the extra mile. His work was better than the factory fit!!! I was very impressed as I to had major concerns about using Autoglass. My insurance company wouldn't play ball, so I had no choice but to use them. I wasn't disappointed.

He told me that he really enjoyed working on something a little different...

Good to hear he took it as a challenge rather than a pain in the a##e becuase it wasn't a mondeo! Wish there were more people like this

hi all'

just wanted to let you know that my new screen was fitted today by auto glass at harlow essex

they took great care and attension to my tamora and saw the job as a challenge ?(they have a specialist team that deal with tvr's and like cars )

the parts took just over four weeks but worth waiting for (xmas new year etc )

they ordered the screen and the seals from a main tvr dealer and yes the rubber seals they sent were wrong !

just goes to show that main dealers can get it wrong too , lucky for me that they had some seals left over from a chim they did before

all in all i'm very pleased with there service and the extra care that they took with my car

and thanks for all the good advice from you fellas

For info you can now get genuine windscreens complete with logos. I was at Castle today for an MOT and a fettle. Whilst speaking to Joe he told me the company that used to make them for the Tam (and others I guess) is now doing so again so there is supply out there.

I had mine done by Auto Glass two weeks ago and they did a good job. The windscreen had the TVR logo, same as the original. They had replacement seals but managed to use the existing ones. I think it took them about 3/4 hours.
