MOT garages for T350 in Essex

[TVR newbie]

Morning all

MOT time for my T350C so wondered if any guys based in Essex/London have some places they can recommend to get a MOT done. Don't want to really use my usual place as although did my Porsche ok, i'm not sure it has much experience (if any) with tiv's.....so don't want them doing their tests without knowing to warm the engine up etc etc.

Any suggestions welcome

Where abouts in Essex are you? Leven in Basildon I'm sure do MOTs.
Alternatively when Castles in Stansted did mine they used the M/Benz dealer on Stansted Rd in Stortford. They do all their MOTs and are used to TVRs.

My local garage around the corner does mine, if you trust your local garage can't you just tell them about the warm up procedure?

I live in Buckhurst Hill/Chigwell area and have used Leven for servicing before but didn't know they did MOT's. Will give them a call to check.

Although i have used my local garage for other cars, i would feel a lot happier if the MOT was being done by someone who do TVR's regularly. Saying that i will give them a call to check what they know.

I just wondered if people had any certain recommendations.

Zippee - the colour is officially called Halcyon Atlantis Blue and i think it looks stunning, especially in the sun. Not seen any others of that colour either

Spoken to Leven - they use a company called ADS Autos based right by them so have booked her in there.

Another vote for the garage that Castle TVR use. HOWEVER... If you go through Castle they charge you a £15 admin fee. Somewhat disapointed they failed to tell me this before hand but at least they can manage fixing any bits that fail on the MOT

Yeah I was a bit miffed with that too. As for the MOT station, they insisted that the handbrake cable on my Tamora (1st MOT!) was re-routed because he thought it caused a problem. Apparently Castle tried to say that they are all like that, but he was having none of it, so cost me more for Castle to do the work. Hay ho.

just put my Tam into Castle for 24000 sevice and mot today, strange about your handbrake cable,
had first mot same time last year with no problems. Always had good service from the guys at castle
they have looked after mine from new.

Just to finish off the thread, i took it to ADS Autos who do MOT;'s for Leven and thoroughly recommend them. Also managed to pop in to see Simon and Jules who fixed the kncoking exhaust while i was there.

Cracking service as always

Wasn't aware the routing of brake cables was anything to do with the MOT. If they're not chafing or worn there's no relevance.

I think it was a chaffing or possible chaffing thing IIRC, but I thought it strange too!
