3.91 Diff fitted to Sagaris - yeehah!
Discussion
Well, I got the Sag back with the 3.46 in the bin and the 3.91 in. I'd always felt the engine and transmission were not quite gelling with the 3.46 diff - did not feel as fluid as my Chimaera (albeit a different engine).
So picked it up today from Dreadnought TVR, raining (of course). Pootled in traffic, tricked up STI scooby with all the body kit add-ons right up my tail, a steep slip road opens up, I hit the throttle (about 80-90% as its still running in) - and guess what.......
...... we left him for dead! 150m ahead at the top of the slip road. It is so much better than the old diff - it accelerates much more cleanly, more responsive, and the engine and transmission now seem to meld together instead of being at odds with each other. It obviously does rev higher (2,950rpm @ 80mph) - cant remember what it did before but it is not noticeably noisier anyway - it was never the quietest car anyway.
So all in all after one day its a brilliant mod and if you got a 3.46 diff in you must do it. Not sure of the difference between the 3.76 and 3.91 (and I really don't care to be honest) but for me, for my roads and for my car it is truly brilliant - its transformed and completed the car.
Next step is Ohlins all round, then adjust the ride height to stop the front grounding out and I'll be in Saggy heaven.
I'll give you more updates with RPM's fuel economy etc all the boring stuff + seat of the pants accelerometer readings of course.

Got mine fitted tio the Sag in Feb (3.91diff and c/r box) did the 1000miles, got them drained and checked, new oil.
The car feels more secure on the road, I have 19" alloys on it as well
Next is changing the suspension and springs (maybe) and thinking about the slats opening
The car is black so not sure if the slats will stand out unless I add a touch of colour
To be honest I love driving the car wherever and whatever I do with it from 30mph to 70mph and beyond!

Could any Sag drivers confirm RPM-speed ratios for the different diffs.
I am asking because my diff is whining and I will neeed to replace it.
My problem is that I have a CR box and what I thought was a 3.4 diff ,but looking at the figures qouted for 80 mph at 2950,my car shows 3000 RPM for 80.
I have 3.4 written on the casing, but perhaps the internals were changed.
Anybody confirm varous diffs/RPM at80 for comparison please.
Thanks

Thanks Graham.
Had a look.I quite like the set up as it stands for cruising,as I will be doing a European trip this year, but I may go for the compromise 3.7.The FFFengine is extremely quiet so the 3.9 shouldn't be too unbearable with 71 @3000rpm.I'll decide soon.
I took your advice re the brakes and will be using the ds25000when changing them next month.
Thanks
