Sagaris gear problem

Hi all,

I've had 10 months of trouble free motoring so I guess it was time something went wrong! Took her out for a drive yesterday and for some reason I am having difficulty selecting gears, esp first. The clutch seems fine with the bite somewhere in the middle. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Likely new clutch time, if same/grinds going into reverse?

Clutches have now improved and I see Power are doing deal on these AP ones


Remove the rubber stop from behind the pedal this may give you aanother 500miles

sound like the clutch to me too , same problem as mine , just had a new clutch at tvr power , drives great now , dom and his team did a fantastic job .

some had a problem with the clutch slave cylinder ...when it fails it gets hard to change, then it will give up altogether, usually taking the clutch with it...had a new style upgraded one (apparently - I couldnt tell you the difference!) fitted with a new clutch at about 18K miles and its been great since though

assuming it is a clutch issue, is 699 plus vat a good price? and are the AP clutches the best option?

I had something similar a while ago and all it needed was the linkage lubricated. Get that checked before you pay for a new clutch!

yeah, id get get the slave cylinder checked first too...it could just be that...problem is, if that does go then usually the clutch goes too

Quick question, why would a failing / failed slave cylinder "take out" the clutch itself? (assuming the clutch is fine, nothing worn or fingers gone)
