Mileage stored on dash ECU

Where is the mileage stored on the T350? Is it on the dash ECU or somewhere else? The reason I'm asking this is around replacing the dash ECU with a second hand unit and I'm wondering if this will affect the mileage.

It's in the dash ecu.
Cath can set the mileage of your replacement ecu to the same as your old one, or she could fix your old one.

Unfortunately the Dash ECU has already been replaced and the mileage is 12k miles over, the garage didn't notice this and the car had an MOT before being given back to me so now that shows the incorrect mileage. I can prove this isn't correct (it would be very hard to do 13k miles in a week!) so hopefully wont be too much cause for concern but it means it is now complicated to work out service intervals etc.

I think the dash ECU was playing up yesterday actually. The screen started missbehaving and showing odd characters and stopped responding completely at one point. It has since returned to normal. I repositioned the dash ECU so it was attached to the inner wing with velcro to stop it flying around which may have caused something to come loose previously, this seemed to have helped, or maybe things cooled down?

This happened to mine, turned out to be the chip overheating. I removed the cover and refitted the box into the wing - sorted. It would be fairly easy to fit a computer fan into the box unit which I am sure would cure the problem. I proved it was overheating by blowing a hair dryer at it to reproduce the fault.

Thanks for the info. Nice to know what is causing this issue. Hopefully the re-positioning will have resolved this although my knuckles were ripped to shreds by the velcro and the tight space

I've been told that the mileage is actually a combination of the dash ECU and something on the dash itself? As I understand it the two are used to calculate the mileage and if you chop and change the dash ECU / dash it can start adding the mileage up!?

I know people who have changed the dash pod without the mileage changing.
The best thing is to call Cath Mason.
