Sat waiting for the AA -electrical wierdness!

Long story this but got to admit I'm confused!
I got in the car as usual, went to start it up but nothing, dash pod dead. Took key out of the ignition then tried again but still nothing. Tried to get out of the car but drivers door won't open, window won't go down. Passenger side fine but I can't use that as my garage is too tight to open that door! So off comes the roof and a scramble out through the back ensues! Tried arming/disarming the alarm, but now the drivers side indicator is flickering away merrily and the interior drivers door release clicking/flashing rapidly. Still can't open the drivers door, even from the outside. I'm now thinking a battery problem, even though it's been on trickle charge since Sunday's run out but give the ever helpful guys at TrackvRoad a ring to seek advice.
On Ian's advice I check a few things. On trying the ignition this time, the dash pod springs to life (along with just about every warning possible - apparently my oil temp is 138 degrees!). Car starts fine and drivers door pops open - and it won't stay shut as it constantly trying to open. Also the drivers side indicator repeator is lit constantly. Battery is reading 12volts which is lower than usual when the engine is runnning. Really wary about trying to drive the car due to the door not staying shut and other random electrical nonesense, so I'm waiting for the AA man.
I've had other strange TVR stuff happen in the past with all 3 that I've had, but this one has got me properly confused. All seems a bit bizaar to me, so while I'm sat twiddling my thumbs, I'm just wondering if anyone has had anything similar?

Weirdness fixed thanks to a random guess from Mr AA Man. Looks like the door control unit had worked loose leaving a dodgy connection. Reseated the offending item and all is fine now. Not sure how a door control unit affects all the other stuff that was going on but you live and learn. TVR's - don't you just love them!?!?!? (Yes I do just in case you were wondering

What I suspect is that the module has feed's into the main bus (CAN based?) or feeds from the senors to stop the user from opening the door whilst moving.. maybe instead of reading these lines it was driving data/voltages down them and confusing the Pod (or preventing them from starting due to internal checks)..

Unfortuantely, I think the AA man just got lucky and temporarily reset things by unplugging the door control unit? Only managed to drive a few miles before the water sensor started to display random temps and oil pressure displaying large variations. Got it home left it for a while and tried again but back to square one with all the same symptoms as before (including the door playing silly b*ggers but this time I remembered about the manual door release instead of climbing out of the roof 
).
At work at the moment but when I get up tomorrow I'll have once last look before ringing the AA again and pushing for it to be recovered to TrackvRoad for a bit of expert investigation. Typically this happens just in time for Easter........

Didn't notice this topic first time - all the random electricals sounds just like water in the alarm ecu, as it happened to me x4 when new, before I figured it out.
It and the door ecu sit in the passenger footwell. Water can find it's way down to them from a panel joint below screen, and follow the wires down.
Suggest check (1/2 cup of water fell out of mine!) dry out with hairdrier, then re-mount securely upside down. Many others had same issue & solution.

NCC did you find what caused the problem? My passenger door won't open and the symptoms sound very similar? I don't have tme to take it to Trimar at the moment so if it's a quick fix I's like to try to sort it myself.
Hi Steve. From everything I've heard both during and after my issues, there sounds to be loads of different things that could cause this. If the car is still running ok and just the door not working I suspect it's not going to be the same root cause as mine. If however, you're getting all the dash alarms that I was, might be worth checking for any loose connections. I had a good play myself but unfortunately mine turned into a relay job as the wierdness got worse, resulting in no electrics at all. Took Track V Road a couple of hours to sort it in the end. From what I've heard, loose earths, dodgy door ECU's, water ingress and the 100A fuse are the most likely. Good luck, hope you get it sorted quickly.
