I have had the car for just over a week now, here is what has happened so far:

On my way to the Isle of Man, I stopped in to TVR Power for a tappet check and general check-over, only had to change a couple of shims but worringly the fuel line had perished by the fuel rail yikes This is an 06 car with 4000 miles on it, (Might be worth checking guys!)After a thorough check-over of the car I'm good to go.

Now I feel confident I can open up the taps on the car we head to Liverpool M6 toll was free and really enjoyed that road to see how she handled at 70 whistle The car handles amazingly, absolutely solid.

Isle of Man on the unrestricted roads I can really put the car through it's paces, after owning many TVR's in different guises the Sag is a different league. Never felt at any point that the car was going to snap out (Probably wasn't trying hard enough.hehe)

Did a trackday at Jurby airfield which I really enjoyed, but to be perfectly honest it didn't feel as quick as my Tuscan! I am putting the car on the rollers on Saturday as the car is completely standard to compare before I go down the decat route. I understand big gains can be made by de-catting the Sag (What are other people's experiences?)

To say I am happy with the car is an understatement, but I just feel it needs a little bit more of a punch.

I have done 1000 miles in a week with no issues whatsoever and I am a very happy man.

What are the new owners thoughts about their new Sag purchase.

Thanks.

I changed from RR Tuscan to Sagaris last year and was dissapointed in performance, yes it handled so much better than the Tusc but... seemed slow. I have since changed to 3.73 diff which was a massive improvement. In hindsight I wish I had gone for the 3.91 and CR box at same time, even more extreme.

De-catted car last service and also had TVR Power Eprom fitted. It is difficult to say conclusively if this improves performance, certainly feels quicker to spool up, idles really well and sounds.....fantastic! Need to get a set of quiet tails for track days now!

IIRC this is DJCs old car right? If so, then I believe Evo Magazine used it in a twin test with the new (then) Marcos. They commented how the Marcos felt faster. I suspect your car has a lower geared diff. A close ratio box coupled to a 3.91 diff would make the world of difference to power delivery - making much more use of the power you already have.

I don't think a de-cat will make that much difference. You really won't notice a few HP. Of course I'm not saying you shouldn't do it evil

All IMHO.

Not uncommon, now you mention it I believe the guys who serviced mine, not the most recent big service, but the 6k one before that had spotted the same thing and replaced it automatically. I had forgotten about it until now as they were so efficient.

Ah, sorry.

My comments on gearing are probably valid though.

Absolutely agree 100%! The 3.91 diff with cr box is very quick, 3.73 with cr box is also a good combination! The 3.46 diff is a little too leisurely for most peoples liking.

I used to work at Marcos, and we tested it against a Sag time and time again, and then did EVO to france and back. Must admit the Marcos would absolutely destroy the Sag for Pace every time!

Don't shoot Me I'm a T350 owner but the Marcos is somthing else!

The sag in question had a 3.46 diff, It would of been a different ball game against a 3.91 with a cr box.

I really don't think it would have made a lot of difference, the Marcos was still down on power at that point, running just short of 400 BHP.

The 6 Production cars and the grey pre production/development car in EVO were developed up to 476BHP In the end. 0.3s quicker to 100mph than a Gallardo at the time (I think Figures are correct) Don't get me wrong I prefer the TVR as a whole and I work on them day in day out, but you won't understand how quick the Marcos is unless you have been behind the wheel in one.

Just ask Boss Cerbera! Phil James, he will tell you!

Word of warning here too.. I`ve just had this fixed as part of the MOT service - it wasn`t far away from drowning the engine in petrol!!
