getting the rad out without the oil tank?

Hello,

I will be taking the rad out of my mates Sag over the next couple of nights and replacing it with a alloy one.

Can you take it out without removing the oil tank? I believe it is best to remove it but I have looked and if I remove the windscreen washer bottle nad its holder it looks like it may come out.

Not sure if it can be done this way but it would be soooooooo much easier, I am guessing the fan cowels may jam on the way out?

am not sure but can't you drop it out the bottom?

Mines diffrent i think as its lying down so not 100%

On the Tams it is almost vertical and there is a plastic panel
you can remove just behind the front bib then apparently it
drops out the bottom this way. Dunno about SAG but on the T350's
I've heard it is vertical !

It has to come out of the top. I will be doing it tonight so I will try and get it out with out removing the oil tank first.

You dont deed to remove the oil tank, it can be done with this in place. the bottle washer from what I can remember has to come out.

Thanks, I removed the washer bottle last night, so I will try and get the rad out tonight.

Yep you can get it out with the oil tank in place!

It is very tight and we had to take the pipes off each end and move the rad around to get the fans off whilst it was half in.

This may be becuase "Mr orange" is one of the very early cars. My car is at racing green at the moment so I am not sure if my opening is different. I have some photos and will put them up soon.

It took us about an hour to get it out includig messing around and dropping a spanner into the nose of the car. I wonder how long it will take to put one back when the alloy one arrives on Friday morning.
