I've always used 15/50 Mobil 1 Motorsport and never had a problem with any S6 engine. Some prefer a lighter cold oil.
RG are looking at going to 15/50. Again, they are testing samples. Interesting that you use it John. Race and road?Race car is an older generation engine and gets lubricated with either Millers 10/60 or Castrol edge 10/60 - both fully synthetic.

Collecting the car on the way up to Derbyshire in a couple of hours.

No problems at all. Where does the FFF engine get its higher pressure from and what does it run at?
With the 15/50 Lindas 4.0 is 22 psi at 85 degree oil temp and 48-50 at 3000 rpm.
Viscosity and surface tension are wonderful things. Both to consider when thinking about getting oil to the top of an engine quickly, but you should also consider how quickly and how much hot thin oil drains back when the engine is turned off. Given that, I can understand someone wanting to run 0 cold grade, but not 40 hot?
John,
The engine on idle sits at about 25 psi. At revs it's about 65 - 70. The higher pressure...well, it has been expleined to me but I can't remember the specifics! Sorry; Pascal or Davy Mac probably will be able to explain it.
Feel a right numpty now
But I'll ask at RG when I collect so I can tell Linda!

personally I found running our old 2001 Tuscan on 0/40W it would literally drink it like fuel, im sure it was too thin. I ran 15/50 in my other car, so gave that a try when then Tuscan came back from a rebuild and consumption was about 1/3rd (although some of that may have been to do with the rebuild of course!)
from new, once the Sagaris was run in, its been run on Silkolene Pro S 15/50w with low oil consumption
...of course none of this is scientific testing and if you have you have a SP6 under warranty, id stick to whatever your engine builder recommends ..but it works for me
