Most You'd Pay For A Tamora?

Hey guys,
I've been looking for a Tamora for a while and I normally try and get the best example of a used car I can. I've found one which is 2005 with 8k miles, not perfect condition but pretty close and with just under a years warranty (wear/tear)...what do you think (roughly) it'd be worth? How good are the wear/tear warrantys - if it needed a rebuild would they cover it no questions asked?

I take it your talking about the black one?
From others past experiences the wear & tear appeares to not be worth a w@nk,
Saying that mine had the clutch done under the same warrenty before I bought it so I would say it's a lottery as to if they would pay.
If the warrenty is free then great but I would not pay a penny for it.
Edited to add I viewed the said car last August when it was up for 26-27k and it is nice, I love the colour combination.

Having read up about the warranties it looks like its very unlikely to cover a rebuild, though maybe a clutch etc. The car in question is 2005 and very low miles so I guess shouldnt need a rebuild anytime soon though maybe in a couple of years? Do you guys think its worth the £22k being asked for it?

I think 22k sounds expensive to me. I sold an 11,000 mile high spec 2 owner 54 plate Tamora with comprehensive history, recent major service in nice condition in November 08 for 17k which given the market then I felt about right. As ever buy on condition and all that but I would have thought you should be able to buy a nice late car for comfortably under £20k if you are patient.

Dealers are saying good stock is hard to find. OI don't see prices for good cars coming down if thatsthe case.Dom
Yeah it does seem that way, certainly i've been waiting a couple of months for the 'perfect' example to come up and although one or two came up and sold very quickly, im still searching! Certainly the good £15k examples are likely to hold their prices pretty firm, but I guess buying one at £22k (or even knocking it down to £20k?) has likely still got some way to come down?

I guess I wasnt really sure which is why I posted to you knowledgable lot - most of the private ones I've seen have been 2002/2003 at around £15k, so I didnt know how that'd tally with a 2005 model. T5GRF said he sold his late 2004 model for £17k with very low mileage, which would make a 6 month later model for £5k more seem expensive? Cheers! Dom

Thats what I thought. In relation to the low mileage 04 that went for 17k I'd be inclined to say that was cheap rather than the norm. 5k difference between an 02 and an 05 is about right, especially considering the revisions within the engine and other late model enhancements.
Interesting, I guess i'd thought it was expensive just because it was the most expensive one I've seen - more expensive than similar dealer ones I thought. You're right none of them are black and are mostly 2004 with a few more miles though. How do you think a 2005 £22k example would hold up in terms of depreciation compared to an older model at say £15k? Sorry for all the questions - just trying to go into Tamora ownership with my eyes open and obviously getting the best deal I can! Cheers! Dom

There are deals around private but seldom with a dealer.

A 2004 was advertised under 20k miles for £16500 suprise suprise in sold in days.
I sold my westfield for 18k in 2 days it was priced right there's quite a few cars which where for sale last August when I bought mine and the reason for that is there to expensive.

As has been said - really they are all a bargain. Would I buy one as an investment or expect minimal depreciation? Who knows. There is a very limited market available.

I think everyone is selling these stunning cars for far to little!!!
I know its good for the people buying, but they are fast with excellent handling and in my mind worth more.
I will be extremely reluctant to sell mine for the 15k the 02 plates seem to be going for, especially with the respray and work I've done on the engine.
That said, all the best with finding one, they really are amazing cars!

If I was going to sell mine I would expect it to go for £19K as a private sale without too much trouble getting more could be a long waiting game. £22K I wouldn't pay for a Tamora unless it was mine and that's only because I know it so well. I would rather buy the unregistered one at Drivestyle for 7K more. Lovely colour when viewed in the flesh.
