Tyres

Hi All,

The info must be somewhere but can't find it, I need to order a new set of tyres for my T350, was going to go for Toyo's, but I havn't got the car with me to get the sizes, anyone know the front and rear sizes, I have the spyder alloys,

also are they Toyo 888 that i want?

The FAQ at the top of the page said:

Front: 225/35 ZR18
Rear: 235/40 ZR18

Although IIRC there was some discussion on here a few weeks ago about different widths / sidewall ratios for R888s, but those are the standard sizes, I believe...

Thanks for that, although just spoken with a tyre guy and he thought it odd that the rear had a higher profile than the front, especially as the rears are wider??

I have just bought a couple of Eagle F1 asymetrics and the tyre guy didn't know there was such a thing so just from my experience this week i would trust the info on here unless its a tyre specialist and not a main stream tyre place.

Looking at the Vredestein ultac sessanta's - 255/35/18, would this width result in any catching / scrubbing? I have stiffened rear suspension.

Good question as I am running with 265/35 X 18 on SP12s (9" Rears) and getting slight wheelarch fouling.

No i have a Tamora,no problems with rubbing. 255`s are standard on Sagaris also.

No i have a Tamora,no problems with rubbing. 255`s are standard on Sagaris also.

Toyo 888 are semi-slick track/road tyres which are definately not standard fitment!
You want Toyo T1-R's.

There are things to watch out for with 888's vs T1-R's. The T1-R's are very narrow for the size, whereas the 888's are very wide. Not sure a set of 255's in 888's would clear the rear arches?

Running less then 4mm tread depth runs an increasing risk of aquaplaning. 2.5mm is very low for a lightweight car!! Be careful.

Just be aware that the T350 is a different shape to the Tamora and bears no resemblance to shape or track of the Sagaris.

I've just ordered SP12s due to my spiders not being round any more. Was advised to go for 265/35 on the rear but would you caution against this? If so, I guess 255/35 would be preferable. Going for the Eagle F1s

Hi Richard,

would definitely caution against. Fully laden on holiday I had to stiffen up the rear by more than I would have liked just to reduce the fouling. Running at standard ride height on trackday and still occasional fouling. Can't really imagine that going down to 255s will cure it so will probably revert to 235s as 245/40 will raise the gearing a bit.
