Newbie asking a question!

Hey all!

Just bought my first TVR a T350c and loving it.
Been reading everyone talking about de-cats but where do you all get them from and how much should I expect to pay?

No idea about your question but welcome to the club

I put the JP sports pipes on mine and that was plenty loud enough... is there a reason you want to go straight for a decat, does it already have sports pipes?

Not got amy sports pipes on yet no just been reading up on the de-cats here and on other TVR forums and people seem to love them.

How much was the JP system?

IIRC they were around £500 but there are always some second hands ones flying around. I would seriously consider these as your first option. They give you the popping and banging without the flames ... you can always get it decatted at well but I suspect you would be a bit hard of hearing after a long

you should be able to get some Edward Quick decats for around £300. These are the dyno tested stainless ones, edward was the TVR exhaust designer.

Same here - the JP sounds awesome but with the advantage of passing MOT emissions, something you may have trouble with if you got de-cat.

Everyone is different but for me the power sports exhausts are more than loud enough. Lots of pops and bangs on overrun. I personally feel the decat as well as the power pipes would be too much.

Bad quality vid of mine just after i had the power pipes fitted with the cats in.

LOL! Yeah that really bad quality video was taken about 18 months ago. (So still 3.6L) Why don't you purchase a pair of power pipes yourself?. Probably the best mod i've had done.

It's had a respray since you saw it at Srt8SIX and am picking it up from X-works tomorrow where she's been having a new alloy radiator and the 1000 mile running in service.

Bought a nice little sony HD video camera last month so will be taking some nice videos of her round the lake district, I'll post them on her once there done, got the week off work so probably will have them on here next weekend (Weather permitting)

I am saving for a re-spray & the pipes as we speak! I was undecided whether to go for those or the JP system but I'm currently swinging towards the Power option.

Have you changed the colour or have you (just) had a blow over?

Do you have a big box on the back shared by both pipes or two small ones?

A big box hidden by the diffuser and 2 pipes coming in and 2 pipes going out it's held on by jubilee clips.
It's rather loud and a lot of popping on overun.

If I'm not mistaken, the powers have 2 small boxes & wiggly S shaped pipes. Yours might possibly be a Blueflame?
