Thinking of sp 12's and R888's

Just been chasing a Noble M400 and a Lambo LP560 round Scotland in mt T350 Red Rose.
In a straight line the little TVR did fine but on the twisties I could get no where near.
I'm not the greatest driver in the world but when we swapped cars the Tvr could still not keep up.
I've had it set up properly and Gaz Gold Pros and Michelin Pilot sports, but the fear factor when cornering leaves you lagging.
Do you think the addition of SP12 wheels with R888 tyres would be worth it or should I just enjoy the car as it is???

I find A048s or R888s wasted for road use - you cant get them warm enough to extract that extra grip that is availble...and would you really want to be pulling 1.2g on the limit of adhesion on the road?
..personally I save that for the track, and even then you need to be a much better than average driver to extract the performance difference.
In the meanwhile, you have semi-slick tyres with 1/2 the tread depth from new, I have gone through a set in a morning before on track, and 2-3000 road miles a set is pretty normal if you drive it as intended
..anyone who says they get 6-10K out of a set, isnt obviously driving to even notice they have sticky tyres on, rather than the OEM rubber LOL
so to the OP - fitting sticky rubber will give you a few secs around a race ciruit, on the road the "keeping up" bit is likely down to a) car set-up - suspension compliance etc and b) driver bottle/skill so I wouldnt bother with expensive tyres that last 1/3rd as long

Enjoy as is. I drove the M400 4 years ago when I was choosing between that and the Sag. The M400 is definitely the faster car A to B and has more compliant lotus-like suspension. just fitted 888s to my sagaris. must say on the track they are really good, but coming back from le mans on monday in that rain they were not so good. on the subject of the m400 never had one drive away from me, normally about the same performance and that was before the 888s, be interesting now. my money is on the sagaris
