Drop Links

Ive had a rear drop link snap today is this common failure on these cars?
Steve Heath sells uprated ones anyone use them as there popular on the chim and griff?

Hi Paul I had the same problem as you.
One of the rear drop links failed on my car about 18 months ago, so I decided to replaced all 4 will Steve Heath drop links.
They are far superior to the originals and are very easy to do, plus they come with a good instructions.
Little tip give all the old drop links a good soaking in WD40 or simular before starting.

Spoke to power today a known problem with these cars they have back orders!
Appears to be the rose joint not oiled enough and dries out and bar breaks as suspension moves and rose joint doesn't.

Yeah it's a common problem, they are quite cheap and were easy enough to get hold of a couple of months ago.

Try Racing Green or TVR Power.

Bought a full rear set of power today.
Maybe should have bought the fronts as well

yep i broke one going over a pothole in leeds.

about 60 quid for both rears and replaced them both. half hour job with car on ramp

Morning All,

Is this an easy job that can be done without the use of a ramp, just a standard jack?

Did mine with a jack and axle stands.
Don't overtighten the bushes and copperslip them to stop squeaking half hour job as said.
I turned the rose joint inwards for ease of oiling don't know what tool to use though yet

Err rad's out tonight and i reckon this red oil issue is the resevior so that's next.
Bad luck or car standing for a year you decide.
I have learnt alot in the past 2 months and spent it too
