Bison interior?

OK - I have a bison interior which is peeling in places? I would describe it as looking like sunburn, but others have said it looks like Freddy Kruegars face :-(
This is not good!
Has anyone been able to 'recondition' is peeling.
Also, the seat has a tear in it...quite a considerable one. I need to get it mended or retrimmed.
Obviosly, I don't want to throw money into a full retrim (doors, seats, dash) unless is it absolutely unavaoidable. IF I can repair and recondition I would much prefer to do this.
