Change lights setting?

Hi,

I have a T350 and was wondering when other peoples change up lights come on? My Red seems to light very early, around 5.5-6K rpm, is that normal? I think the green lights at about 4K, I'll double check exactly tonight?

Can I set them?

Yes you can set them, via the menu on the LCD. Push both buttons together on the 'menu' screen and the green, amber and red lights can be adjusted to come on when you want.

Exactly - though if you continually redline to 8500 revs then the longevity may be 'slightly' reduced.
I have my red set to come on at 7500.

Thanks, Does anyone know what the factory settings were?

My thoughts on changing it were simply that if the red is always on, it looses its value. I'll change it to be higher.

There weren't any particularly, they are user-settable for your preference.

You're only just starting the intended powerband at 5k rpm!

Independent of them, there is a soft-cut rev limit at around 7800rpm. I was regularly above 7000rpm through the gears for 25,000m before I sold that original 3.6 engine, still no signs of wear, no rebuilt parts etc.

Personally I set my lights at 7200, 7400, 7600.

Sorry, yes - poorly worded. If you set the limits higher and then continually drive to the lights you will be stressing the engine more.

Finally got round to doing this. It seems the highest I can set my green to come in is 4800, is it normal to have the ranges limited?

Had the same problem when I set mine. IIRC there is a range for the settings dependant on what the higher ones are set to. Have you tried raisng the Red and amber shift light points first.

A fellow owner set my green light at 3000 rpm!

That way it should stay OFF when warming the engine up.

Once warm it should be ON all the time - if it goes off I'm in the wrong gear or driving too slowly
