Is it the Clutch?

Hi all,

I think my clutch has finally given up? It’s started to get difficult to put into first and also put into 5th (when standing still) before engaging reverse. Does it sound like the clutch?

Car has done 28k and as far as I can see this is still the original? Sounds like it’s lasted well if it is?

just out of interest, is it more difficult to get into reverse without it grinding? I think mine might be on early stages of clutch problems too as 1st seems to be a little difficult sometimes.

It certainly looks like you have clutch failure symptoms. My clutch went during London Thunder 2006 after 21k miles. I could'nt get into first gear when standing still. Had to put it into first gear before starting the engine.

Think you may need a new clutch.

Getting it into reverse isn't a problem as long as I can get it onto 5th first, thats where the problem is, its started grinding when trying to get it ont 5th.


Anyone know whats the best clutch to go for?

Try taking the rubber stop off the pedal stop.
It may last you a little longer or get you home.

Go for an AP racing twin plate.

They seem to be the best with no issues now.
Lovelly & smooth.

Just make sure if flywheel has wear rotate the clutch by 60degrees
