HID conversion for the Tamora - much needed !!

Anyone given the car the much needed replacement
for the candle like headlamps on the TAM !

Yes just fitted them to mine (same set as you highlight). Visability much better. Bit of a pain in the arse to fit took about 2 hrs; more time consuming than difficult as the H4 bi-xenon units need a 12V feed & 2 earths, so its not just plug and play as they suggest. Only problems are dash light led's don't illuminate unless you put lights on before the ignition and the radio reception is crap when the lights are on as the ballest is mounted in the wing near the antenna. Its also a good idea to change the side light bulbs so they match the HID light output.

So it is a DIY job, guess you jacked up and removed the front wheels correct ?

Yes 1 side at a time. Need to remove the large panel to get access to the light (wd40 at the ready for the knackered screws). Need to cut the rubber boot (covers the light) to facilitate the larger bulb which clips in same as the bulb you remove. Run the loom across front of car. Mount ballests on sikaflex in tops of wings. Run +12V and two earths off battery for power to loom Need to change connectors for bullets. You can earth the drivers side off the frame if you can get to the earth which is down by the rad mount.

I went for the HID upgrade on my T350 in 07 and I think they were from Aceparts. They make a huge difference and I can personally live with the rubbish radio reception when on, and having to switch the lights on before the car to not lose the dash backlight - many can't so choose to not upgrade. The upgrade pretty much makes full beam redundant unless you want to do those at the same time!

Fitting is defintely DIY, especially the H7's on the T350 as they are 2 wires and mounting the ballasts.
